Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced that they are stepping down from royal duties. The couple have had it rough and with media intrusion and bias views made up about them, they have simply had enough. There are also speculations that it is out of their intentions to protect Archie, their baby boy born last year. According to broadcaster, Piers Morgan, Harry and egan are ‘the two most spoiled brats in history’. No other royal was consulted before the news was announced, causing great controversy and disappointment in Buckingham Palace. They plan to balance their time in North America and the UK, keeping their royal titles but earning independently not with the royal family. Not only that but they have set out their intentions to no longer engage in the royal rota system under which reporters from small media outlets get access to the royal family and agree to distribute factual reports among their arrivals.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are standing down from royal duties, meaning they can have more of a normal life instead of having to maintain a stressful life of royalty. In my opinion, they have every right to do what they want and shouldn’t be judged by the press or by the royal family themselves, as Meghan has constantly been suffering from abuse and harassment concerning her race and nationality. They shouldn’t feel obliged to serve the royals if they would rather raise their child and shouldn’t be shamed for it.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving their royal duties behind has caused a variety of opinions from the public and anger from the Queen and the rest of the royal family. Even though they may be keeping their titles, they are planning to eventually get into paid jobs and be financially independent while raising their son Archie by splitting their time between North America and the UK. However they do still plan to do some royal visits if asked. I think that with all the controversy with Meghan from the beginning has led the couple to this decision that will allow Archie to become the person he wants to be without all the pressures of royalty on his shoulders from a young age. This also helps as the couple never gave Archie a title when he was born last year.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made the tough decision to step down from their royal duties. The cause of their decision is thought to be the controversy surrounding the pressure imposed on the couple by the Royal Family, but more importantly to protect their son, Archie. Their final decision was not run past the royal family, and it was a decision that they had to make alone. They have decided to split their time between North America and the UK, sparking retaliation from the media, with celebrities, like Piers Morgan, calling the pair “spoiled brats”. It is said that this retaliation was fuelled by the fact that their decision seemed to upset the Queen, which is completely understandable. However, this retaliation from Piers Morgan himself was completely unjustified, as the decision was Meghan and Harry’s to make, and therefore they shouldn’t face any backlash for choosing what they want to do with their own lives, especially when there is a child involved.
