Now that the UK has now approved the Pfizer Vaccine for 12-15 year olds, let’s reflect on the writer's at Loop and their opinions on this new stage in the fight against Covid-19:
I believe that the vaccine will be a positive attribute to society due to its limited side effects as well as enabling us to socialise more. However, I believe that this should be optional for the younger generation and be left to choice although social situations will remain limited for these people until herd immunity is built. - Bella
In my opinion it's still a vaccine and vaccines are made to prevent people getting ill - Matt
As much as I hate needles, I hate COVID more. After the year we’ve had, if a couple of jabs mean things can finally get back to normal I’m more than happy to do it. The vaccines have done so much good so far, life is finally starting to feel like we’re in control again, and the fact that we can now make even more of the population safe - I don’t see how that can be anything but good :) -Isabelle
I think that at the end of the day it's just another vaccine which will help to try and keep COVID under control.- Sulena
Being vaccinated is an important step in overcoming the pandemic, however 12-15 year olds shouldn’t necessarily need to be vaccinated due to potential health complications and their minimal reactions to the virus itself , but it all depends on circumstance and whether or not the children or people in their homes are high risk. - Pati
As more and more vaccines are approved by the UK government, a calmer future seems to become more and more likely. I'm looking forward to when everybody who can be vaccinated is vaccinated so we can return to some kind of normal. I personally think that all people should get the vaccination. The UK Vaccine Approval committee is one of the strictest after all. - Austin
Getting vaccinated will help the world go back to normal(ish) so I believe that it is a good idea, even though I absolutely hate needles. - Grace
I think that being vaccinated is extremely important and it is good that they have finally allowed younger children to get it. It will allow for everything to slowly return to normal as more and more people of different ages begin to get vaccinated. - Annaliese
