Global Warming

A poem by Bella Knight

Global warming is not a joke,

We hear it said, we hear it spoke.

But how many times do we have to be told,

The world’s in our hands as we live and grow old;

So if we take a step back will we finally realise,

That time is a gift with no guarantee to surprise.

As icebergs melt upon the ocean,

Will our litter and junk be dumped in a motion,

To condemn the future of all things else,

Will you look back and indefinitely blame yourself?

Be the change that you want to see,

To decrease temperatures and litter that swims in the sea.

Demolish the threat that is killing the earth,

And bring light to a new and healthy disperse;

Recycle and buy your products wisely,

Because this world is ours and it’s time is pricey.

So I stand here and tell you urgently,

Will you listen to my words or ignore them inadvertently.
