A show all about the journey of a mother and daughter living alone in a small town with big ambitions.

Gilmore Girls is a drama/comedy series starring Alexix Bladel (Rory) and Lauren Graham (Lorelai). This series focuses on the life of a single young mother (Lorelai) and her teen daughter (Rory) in a small town called Stars Hollow. We are not only shown the strong bond between Lorelai and Rory but we are also introduced to other relationships with these characters. This show highlights the love life of a teenager as well as the struggles of finding a man as a single mother. However, above all of that, this show is primarily about the funny, loving and aspiring bond these two share together.
At the start of the show Rory Gilmore is a sophomore in highschool and at the end of the show she is a college graduate. There is a lot expected from Rory by her mother and grandparents and this is seen throughout the series. From watching we can understand that this young girl is very hardworking and determined to make her family (and herself) proud.
Even though this show is based mainly on the relationship of the mother and daughter, some of the favourite and most watched episodes are about the lifestyles of characters not involving Lorelai and Rory for example: the grandparents, friends and ex-lovers. I like that they include these episodes as it gives the audience a chance to get an attachment to the other characters and a greater understanding of the different lifestyles.
This mother and daughter duo have a lot on their shoulders with Loralai advancing her career as a Hotel Manager and Rory dealing with the pressures of high school and moving on to college. However, as much as they have on their plates, they will always make time for each other and of course their weekly ‘Friday Night Dinner’ with the grandparents.
Overall I’d rate Gilmore Girls 7/10 as it is an easy-watch and relaxing programme, which also has a great storyline.
