Over the past few weeks, I have been squeezing in as many films as I can that I have always had a massive interest in. In between mine and my boyfriend's goal to watch every Quentin-Tarantino film, I decided to watch Fight Club (but don’t tell anyone!).
The film's dynamic and artistic intentions were incredible and nothing like I thought the film would be like. The David Fincher film follows the life of “The Narrator” Tyler Durden and sends us through his journey of overcoming insomnia. Along the way he meets many people and creates a club: Fight Club. This “Fight Club” ends up becoming his life and he slowly starts to fall into a trap of turning this club into a terrorist collaboration in order to get everyone's financial history back down to zero and have everyone start from the beginning.
The film really does shock you with its twists and turns. The ending and overall storyline is fantastically well throughout. Fincher has put a massive puzzle on a cinematic canvas and has done it in a way that no other director could have done. The hidden easter eggs and second cut frame flashes make you rewind the film more times then you just watch it normally.
To sum up all that has been said, I think Fight Club is an incredible watch and I will definitely watch it again so I can spot anything I missed the first time. I would highly recommend it if you like to be shocked, scared, left thinking when the credits come up.
But like I said at the start, DON'T TELL ANYONE I SPOKE ABOUT FIGHT CLUB! (You'll get it when you watch the film.)
