It’s been six long years and she is back. The ‘One and Only’ Adele has stormed the music industry with her record-breaking single ‘Easy On Me’. This happens just over a month before the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘30’. The number mysteriously popped up across the globe and quickly the world fell silent. So ready but so unprepared. She stepped back into the Adele-shaped hole left in our hearts after the ‘25’ era drew to a close, and soon enough the teaser was dropped, becoming the most watched clip on twitter by a female artist at over 17 million views.
Friday 15th October rolled around and the single dropped, quickly becoming the ‘most-streamed song in one day’ of all time, at 19.7M listens. This was only the beginning, Adele went on to break several more world-records in radio and charting history, as well as dismantling her own records in just a matter of days - she is her own competition. With this announcement every problem is now achievable because Adele is back and we have a goal, a motivation powered by her next album. Naturally, promotion for the album ensues. She features as the first person simultaneously on both American and British Vogue this month, allowing a glance into her life and the making of ‘30’, revealing the relatable navigation of self-reflection and the importance of vulnerability. Her music falls at the perfect time of year, a comforting hug as summer combusts into autumn.
Adele’s breathtaking voice offers refuge and clarity at our lowest times, perfectly capturing emotions in her lyrical and musical artistry. She paints a picture in every one of her songs and gives permission to her listeners to feel what they need to feel.
‘I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain’ - River Lea, 25
‘So desperate to find a way out of this world and finally breathe’ - Remedy, 25
‘You say my name like there could be an us’ - Melt My Heart To Stone, 19
‘So petrified, I'm so scared to step into this ride
What if I lose my heart and fail the climb?’ - He Won’t Go, 21 (this whole song alone sums up her talent - listen, listen, listen!)
Adele has said ‘30’ has some of her favourite lyrics yet, so for that alone it’s difficult to wait!
Several heart-warming interviews later - because she makes us all smile - and here we are. November couldn't come round fast enough but I will enjoy every day as it is because it's not often Adele releases music but when she does everything suddenly feels ok again. So set your alarms because if you're not listening to ‘30’ on November 19th then the only reasonable excuse to have is that you were ‘Chasing Pavements’.
Join us again after the release of ‘30’ to read our thoughts and a breakdown of the album!
